Management, Friends, and Home

Subtitle

  • Management of time is something that all students can have a problem with and can induce stress. It was stated that students who implement time management strategies are better off then those who implement strict time management rules.

  • Making friends can be difficult for college students especially when it comes to classes being online. The time where college students find their friend group is within the first year and it is difficult to become a part of another group. Without friends it was found that students have a higher chance of dealing with depression.

  • Feeling at home is one of those things that all students do with where they are living. The misconception is that feeling at home doesn’t mean what their living space looks like but rather with who they surround themselves with and the networks they establish. What really matters in college when talking about feeling at home is who meets whom and when.

Advise and Engagement

  • Seeking advice needs to be a thing that more students engage in more often than not. The faculty, staff, and faculty advisors are there to help students live up to their full potential. It was shown that students that use the resources provided to them will excel in growth and competence. With the help they were also seen to have better decision making skills when it comes to their stress and anxiety.

  • Engaging academically leads to positive persistence, personal development, satisfaction, and learning. Engaging academically allows students to stay on top of assignments and exams  which decreases stress, depression, and anxiety.
