Sleep Hygiene

  • In this study the hypothesis was that if college students set timers on when to brush their teeth, go to bed, wake up, and drink water that these college students will have a higher quality of sleep. Along with a higher quality of sleep students will tend to have healthier habits.

Alerts for Sleep

  • It was found that students that participated in having text messages or alarms set for their sleep had better sleep hygiene.

  • It was also found that alerts do not have to be in a text message form and do not need substance, as long as the recipient knows what the alerts are for they make a large difference in an individual's sleep hygiene.

  • Sleep hygiene is the practice and habits that lead to sleeping well on a daily basis.

  • Sleep hygiene is difficult for many students in college due to stress, anxiety/depression, and being able to make choices for themselves.
